Chu Teh Chun
(French-Chinese, 1920-2014)

Born in the city of Baitu, Anhui province, Chen entered the National School of Fine Arts in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, from which he graduated in 1941. He studied there under the teaching of Pan Tianshou. His class included future masters of Chinese painting, Wu Guangzhong and Zao Wou-Ki. They remained friends and continued their artistic careers in France where they bore the nickname of the "three Musketeers". All three were admitted as members of the Academy of Fine Arts.
