Lin Fengmian (Chinese, 1900-1991)

Born in the village of Ge Dong Ling, Guangdong province, Fengmian interest in painting was discovered at a very young age. He was part of the young elite who benefited from the work-study program which enabled him to travel to France. He then visited Paris where he connected with Chinese artists living and working, notably Xu Beihong.
