Pan Tianshou
(Chinese, 1897-1971)

Born in Guanzhuang, in the province of Zhejiang, Tainshou began his studies at the First Normal School of Zhejiang. He then studied painting alongside Wu Changshuo.  He taught at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1924 and was then appointed director of the National Academy (now called Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts).
